Update from the superintendent – Thursday, March 19

Dear Stillwater Community,

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through many questions, issues and whatever the day may bring. As I’m sure you are aware, the situation for school districts changes each day. I will continue to do my best to keep you informed. Below you will find the latest updates from the Stillwater Central School District.

Elementary School Update

  • Elementary report cards were mailed home today, Thursday, March 19
  • Most families should have received their UPK-5 packets. If you did not receive one, please contact Principal Toleman at retoleman@scsd.org. More information will be forthcoming regarding collection and upcoming work. On average, these materials should take students 2-3 weeks to complete.
  • Kindergarten Information Night scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 has been postponed until a later date.
  • UPK registration scheduled for Friday, March 20 has also been postponed. We will update you when it has been rescheduled.

Middle/High School Update

Reminder, all students will receive class codes from their teachers on or by Monday, March 23. Students are encouraged to log on daily and complete assigned tasks. If there are any questions, students should email their teacher(s).

Update from the Office of Pupil Personnel Services

All meetings scheduled through the Office of Pupil Personnel Services from March 17 – April 9 will be rescheduled. This includes all 504 meetings, CSE, and CPSE meetings.

PPS office staff will work with families to find a time that is convenient for parents and staff to continue our collaborative work. We will take into consideration field trips, state testing, and pre-planned districtwide events to ensure full committee attendance.

As of right now, meetings scheduled after Monday, April 20 will be held as originally planned. Thank you for your patience during this challenging time.

More to Come

We plan to share more in regards to instruction early next week. For now, thank you for all you’ve done with your students so far during this time. It is important to keep them engaged and connected.

Thank you for your patience. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
