Stillwater High School Drama Club presents “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”

Discover a day in the life of the beloved “Peanuts” character Charlie Brown at Stillwater High School Drama Club’s upcoming production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown!”

This whimsical musical follows the whole Peanuts gang: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn’t give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally is still mocking blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and “blockhead,” himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form.

Spanning the months between Valentine’s Day and Beethoven Day, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” navigates a range of emotions, from exuberant joy to profound sadness. In this updated version, the combination of Andrew Lippa’s new music and lyrics with Michael Mayer’s dialogue retains the Peanuts’ sweet, joyful innocence while injecting a fresh, playful spirit.

The revised script also features two new songs, witty dialogue, and catchy orchestrations. Whether you’re keen to fly with the Red Baron, moon over the Moonlight Sonata, or just do your best to find “Happiness,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a crowd-pleasing classic. The show opens on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in the Stillwater High School auditorium with additional performances scheduled for Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22, also at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 each for students, $10 for adults and $15 for VIP seating (front row).

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” is a delightful production perfect for theatre enthusiasts and families alike. Revisit this beloved classic and share in the laughter as the Stillwater High School Drama Club brings the iconic Peanuts gang and their new adventures to life.
