The first day of school is quickly approaching and the Stillwater Central School District will be providing free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2024-25 school year.
A meal comes with an entree, vegetable, fruit and milk.
Additional items such as drinks, snacks, ice-cream and an extra entree are not included and can be purchased with cash or money in a student account.
The district began offering free meals in Nov. 2023 as part of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer meals at no charge to all students.
Families can view the September breakfast and lunch menus here.
In addition, families are encouraged to fill out the alternative income form. The data collected is used to assess a district’s eligibility for specific programs and allows government agencies to distribute items and services that benefit the educational experience of students such as books, technology, discounts on field trips, SAT/ACT/AP exam fee waivers and more. Additional information about alternative income forms and their purpose can be found on the district website here.
