Senior Pass is a privilege extended to eligible seniors who have met the requirements laid out within this section of the Student Code of Conduct. For the current school year, the areas of interest are grades, absences/tardiness, library books, and history of ALE/OSS.
In order to receive a Basic Senior Pass, students must do the following:
- Maintain at least an 80 percent average in the classes in which they are enrolled.
- Have no more than 3 unexcused instances of tardiness per semester
- Have no more than 1 unexcused absences per semester
- Stay free of in-school suspensions during the previous marking period
- Remain in good standing with the library (no overdue books)
- Students receiving out-of-school suspension at any point during the current school year will be ineligible for Senior pass for the remainder of the year.
In order to receive an Enhanced Senior Pass, a student must meet all of the criteria outlined above AND receive a grade of 85% or higher in each of the classes in which they are enrolled.
- Students eligible for the Basic Senior Pass will have the right to miss the first and last periods of the day so long as these periods are scheduled study halls.
- Pass holders will also be given preferential consideration when their study hall teacher compiles the list of students permitted to report to the library for the period.
- Additionally, students with an Enhanced Senior Pass will be allowed to leave school grounds during the day if they are scheduled for at least two consecutive free periods (including lunch). This privilege will only go into effect after the qualifying senior has submitted written permission from their guardian outlining the specific times when they would be eligible to leave.
It is important to note that if at any time a senior student displays an inability to maintain proper behaviors as outlined in the Code of Conduct, their Senior Pass privileges may be revoked.
