Future police officer teams up with SRO to explore careers

Sean Lyons and Alexis LaMountain touch their noses

Stillwater High School junior Alexis LaFountain would like to become a police officer, so she is job shadowing the district’s School Resource Officer (SRO), Deputy Sean Lyons, to learn more about the law enforcement profession. One recent lesson: Deputy Lyons taught Alexis about standardized field sobriety tests used to determine impairment.

Alexis is also a member of the Saratoga County Sheriff Explorers Post, where she is learning about many aspects of police work. Deputy Lyons became Stillwater’s SRO last fall and loves his work with students and staff on campus.

Check out this video of the lesson.
