The Stillwater varsity boys indoor track and field team continued their Wasaren League Championship reign after capturing their 14th league title on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). Facing fierce competition, the defending champions showcased exceptional talent and skill to secure first place with an impressive 141 total points.
The event featured standout performances by several student athletes. The action began with the boys’ 4×200 meter relay, where a dynamic team composed of senior Nehemiah “Neo” Costine, sophomore Carson Monell, junior Jack Haney, and captain Tyrese Julien dominated the race, finishing at the top with a time of one minute, 36 seconds. Senior Anthony Zazzaro claimed victory in both the boys’ 1600-meter run (5:09.67) and the 1000-meter run, securing a double win and breaking his own school record in the 1000m with a time of two minutes, 37 seconds.
Contributing to the team’s success, fellow captain Tim Oliver took first place in the boys’ 3200-meter run with a time of 11 minutes and 15 seconds, while Neo Costine won his heat in the 55-meter dash in 6.80 seconds. Junior Brooke Coon continued the team’s winning streak in the girls’ 1000-meter run, crossing the finish line in three minutes, 28 seconds. The meet culminated with the boys’ 4×400 meter relay, where senior Myles Marinello, junior Frank Marshall, Carson Monell and Jack Haney sprinted to victory with a time of three minutes, 56 seconds.
