District offices have been open since June 1, 2020. All 12-month staff have completed COVID training. All 10-month staff will complete this training prior to student arrival in the fall.
All staff, students and visitors complete a daily self-health assessment upon entering the workplace. This includes daily temperature monitoring and allows for contact tracing if necessary. Point of entry access has been limited to the Lilac Gym lobby entrance, the Business Office at the middle/high school and the main entrance at the elementary school.
Social distancing and face covering protocols are in place. Upon the start of school in September, students and returning staff will be taught the protocols. Written protocols will also be disseminated to all staff and students. They will also be posted on our district website for visitors.
Transportation
Transporting our students to and from school safely is of utmost importance. NYSED and DOH guidance will outline the number of students that we can safely transport with our transportation fleet. The District currently employs the use of fifteen 66-passenger buses, five 30-passenger buses, two handicapped-accessible buses and three Suburbans.
As per DOH, individuals must wear acceptable face coverings at all times on school buses (e.g., entering, exiting, and seated), and individuals should maintain appropriate social distancing, unless they are members of the same household. We encourage parents/legal guardians to drop off or walk students to school to reduce density on buses. Food Service
We will continue to provide school breakfast and/or lunch to students who were previously receiving school meals, both on site and remotely. For students on site, we will provide meals while maintaining appropriate social distancing between students. Students do not need to wear face coverings when seated and eating so long as they are appropriately socially distanced.
