More than a dozen students and staff from the Stillwater music program helped commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 by performing at memorial services in Mechanicville and Stillwater.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, members of the 5th grade band, joined by Joey Spanswick and Kate Hassett, performed at memorial services in Mechanicville. Josh Hoyt and Nurshinta Berry also performed “God Bless America” with elementary teacher Rachael O’Neill.

At 6 p.m., members of the Stillwater wind ensemble performed at memorial services outside the Blockhouse Museum in Stillwater. Performers included Joey Spanswick, Nick Baines, Ryan Golden, Christie Ghorayeb, Alexis Baines, Morgan Kay, Sarah Folmann and Kate Hassett.

“Thank you to all of our students for going out to support our community,” said  Stillwater music teacher Patrick Foxton. “Go Warriors!”
