Dear Stillwater families,

The goal is for everyone to return to school in-person this fall, and we are planning for such a welcome. We continue to await guidance from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and our local county health department, while at the same time presenting them with the questions we need answered to plan forward.

You may recently have seen our region’s school superintendents on the news pleading for direction. Collectively, we petitioned our legislators, who in turn wrote a direct letter to NYS Commissioner of Health Dr. Howard Zucker. We are following up with a second letter this week.

We have also had meetings with our local legislators to assist us in getting answers. We await guidance on masking, social distancing and transportation. Other areas include fall sports, pool testing requirements, etc. I will communicate updates as soon as I get them.
