Dear Stillwater School Community,
This letter is to inform you that at last night’s Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted the resignation of Elementary School Principal Paul Morcone, who was recently appointed as an elementary principal within the Granville Central School District.
Mr. Morcone has already shared this information with his staff and he will be sending a letter home to our elementary families this week.
I want to personally thank Mr. Morcone for all he has done during his time in Stillwater. Over the past five years, I have seen Mr. Morcone grow as an administrator, as he has brought some great ideas to the district as both an assistant principal and principal. I know how much Mr. Morcone loved working with our students and I wish him all of the best in his next role. He will always be a Warrior!
While Mr. Morcone’s resignation represents a major change, I want to assure you that a plan is in place to move the district and the elementary school forward. The Board of Education is already discussing the search for a seasoned interim elementary principal, who will be prepared for the start of the new school year. This will ensure that the hiring process for a permanent elementary principal is thorough and deliberate.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out by email at pmorris@scsd.org or by phone at (518) 373-6100, ext. 30022.
Sincerely,
Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
