Be a part of our long-term vision setting process!

Sept. 20, 2017- The Stillwater Central School District is working on a long-term vision setting process to best serve our students, parents, and community. With the mindset of, "it takes a village to raise a child," we recognize the importance of gathering feedback from everyone who comes together to help educate our students, starting with you, the parents. In addition to input from our students, staff, and administration, we invite you to be a part of this vision.

Consultants Dr. Stephen Danna and Ms. Emma Bartscherer will be facilitating interviews with the entire Stillwater school community. Parents are invited to come and give their input on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 2-3 p.m. or Monday, Oct. 16 from 6:30-7:30 p.m in the middle school conference room.

If you are interested and able to participate, please contact either Middle School Principal Tim Hulihan at thulihan@scsd.org or High School Principal Dr. Michael Johnson at mjohnson@scsd.org to sign up.

In the coming weeks every parent will also receive an invitation to an online survey to share their thoughts about the district. Please be on the lookout for this invitation.

Looking to continue our district’s significant improvements in academics these past few years, the Stillwater Central School District will begin the process of identifying its vision for the future. This "Strategic Action Planning" process will begin with interviews and surveys, continue with analysis of other district data, and conclude with a planning group comprised of students, Board of Education representatives, administration team leaders, community members, senior citizens, parent representatives, support staff, and teachers. The final plan will give our Board of Education a framework for decision-making and will provide direction to measure the progress of the district, staff, administration, and the Board itself. Our process is values-based, developed by various stakeholders, and reflects the needs of our students and community.

“Every great journey starts with a first step,” which is why we jump start this project by informing the school community of our plan and inviting you to participate. We eagerly await your feedback and appreciate your time and consideration.
