Stillwater High School students travel to Quebec City

May 5, 2017- More than a dozen students in the French program at Stillwater High School had the opportunity to visit Quebec City last month.

During their four day trip, the students practiced their French speaking skills, as they were encouraged to speak the language throughout the trip, and experienced the French-Canadian culture first-hand. Some of the activities the students took part in included a reenactment of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, a tour of Laval University, a visit to Huron Indian village, and a walk across Montmorency Falls.

The students also had the opportunity to try many local Quebec dishes, including poutine, bread with maple butter, croissants, beaver tails, and of course, maple syrup.

Every other year the French program takes a trip to a French speaking country and it is open to all Stillwater students in the program. Two years ago the students had the opportunity to travel to France. Thank you to Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Heflin for this year’s fun French adventure!
