Boys and girls track teams win Warrior Relays

Apr. 24, 2017- On Saturday, Apr. 22, the boys and girls track teams took top honors at their own invitational, the Warrior Relays. This is an accomplishment that had not been done in six years. Both teams were also without a home invitational win until this year.

The girls team scored 101 points, beating runner-up Maple Hill by 19 points. The Lady Warriors won seven of the 13 events. Captain Aubrey Murphy and Keelyn Peacock took first in the high jump; Madison Krochina led Stillwater to impressive wins in both the shot and the discus; Paige Brinsko and Keelyn Peacock won the pole vault relay; Captain Faith Sheehan led both the 4x100 relay and the 4x200 relay to wins; and the distance squad of Brooke Pickett, Jenna Urbanski, Kiersten Wagner, and Devon Wagner started the meet off with a impressive win in the 4x1600 meter relay (25:14), beating second place Hoosic Valley by one minute and 16 seconds.

The boys team scored 84 points, outscoring their nearest rival Maple Hill by 17 points. The Warriors dominated long and triple jump thanks to performances by Max Lautenberg, Dan Foley, and Dylan Moran. Captain Jake Tyler led the 4x100 relay to a win; Dan Morris posted fast splits in the 4x400 relay to secure first place, and John Gannon anchored a Distance Medley Relay to top honors.

Congratulations to all on an outstanding meet!
