The tax rates differ among the towns because, as is often the case in school districts that span multiple municipalities, properties in different communities are assessed at varying levels in relation to full-market value. The state assigns each town an “equalization rate” in an effort to fairly distribute the amount of taxes each town must pay.

Stillwater residents approved a school budget proposal of $23,989,459 in May. At the time of the budget vote, the district estimated the tax rates would increase by 2 percent or less.

Tax bills will be mailed at the end of August, and are due by Oct. 1 without penalty.

Payments may be mailed in care of Renee Price, tax collector, Stillwater CSD, 1068 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater NY, 12170, or made in person at the Stillwater CSD Business Office (located in Stillwater High School) or at the Stillwater branch of the Ballston Spa National Bank. Please note that if you pay in person, you must bring your bill with you. Visit the district "School Taxes" page for more information
