Stillwater to induct 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame Class on September 2

July 29, 2016- On Friday, September 2, the newest members of the Stillwater Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted. This year’s inductees are Michael Kardash (Class of 1975), Peter D’Aloia Sr., Dominick Fruci, Aileen Durrant, and the 2005-06 Varsity Boys’ Basketball team. The inductees will be honored in the middle school cafeteria before the varsity football game versus Tamarac (at 6 p.m.). They will also be honored on the field during halftime.

• Member of the 1973 Sectional Baseball Championship Team Two-time
   Section 2 Wrestling Champion
• First two-time Chieftain Cup Winner
• Graduate of SUNY Cortland and THE Ohio State University
• Taught health, science and physical education at Stillwater for 13 years
• K-12 Administrator at Stillwater for 5 years (1997-2001)
• Athletic Director and physical education teacher for 13 years
• Varsity Football Coach
• Varsity Wrestling Coach
• Varsity Golf Coach
                                                                     • Instrumental in the building of Stillwater’s updated athletic facilities
                                                                     • Member, Section 2 Athletic Council

• Boys 7th grade modified basketball coach for six years
• Volunteer for Section 2 boys basketball committee 1986-present
• Section 2 softball and soccer official
• 2006 recipient of the Francis “Dutch” Howlan Award
• 2010 recipient of the Tournament Program dedication for Section 2

Dominick Fruci

Video production for Stillwater Athletics since 1985 in the following sports:
• Varsity, JV, modified, and battle football
• Varsity, JV, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys basketball
• Varsity girls volleyball
• Varsity softball
• Varsity baseball
• Varsity girls and boys soccer
• Cheerleading competitions
• Produced numerous highlight films for students entering college to obtain acceptance






Aileen Durrant
Teacher and coach

• 1974-2013 taught physical education at Stillwater
• 1974- started the interscholastic program for girls field hockey, volleyball, basketball, and softball
• By 1977 had Varsity and JV programs up and running
• Coached every level of the above sports since their inception
• Coached indoor track
• 1978-1992 President of the New York State Softball Umpires
• 1993-2001 State Softball Coordinator
• 2012 Induction into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame
• The Aileen Durrant Award is given to three softball players each year who show exceptional sportsmanship by The  
   Capital District Softball Umpires
• The Aileen Durrant Award is given to one school each year at the State Championships who has shown exceptional
   sportsmanship by The New York State Softball Umpires
• 1973-present, member of Capital District Softball Umpires & Capital District Basketball Officials
