Nov. 17 board program meeting recap

Nov. 20, 2015 — At the Nov. 17 Board of Education Program Meeting, the board was presented with the depreciation schedule of the GlobalFoundries PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) agreement.

School Business Official Mark Methe told the board that the assessed value of the land is scheduled to decline faster than tax rates will rise, which means that the PILOT payment amounts will continue to decline. He added that a GlobalFoundries expansion is not expected in the short-term, and that long-term expansion is possible, but cannot be planned on. View presentation in PDF format

The board will continue the discussion of long-term financial planning at an upcoming program meeting.

During the second part of the meeting, attendees learned about the next generation science standards for grades K-8 and how the district plans to align with these standards in the future. View presentation in PDF format
