SHS Gives Back Day to be held Oct. 29

Oct. 14, 2015 — For the sixth year in a row, members of the Stillwater High School Freshman class will head out into their community for a day of service, which has been appropriately named "SHS Gives Back Day." On Thursday, Oct. 29, students will work throughout the town and village of Stillwater raking leaves for community members and doing yard cleanup. A rain date has been scheduled for Nov. 3.

"SHS Gives Back Day allows students to service the Stillwater community and surrounding areas," said Assistant Principal Paul Morcone, "Students, staff and our district take great pride in this event because it continues to build camaraderie and allows us to give back in a positive manner."

If you would benefit from the help of student volunteers, or know of someone who would otherwise have difficulty doing this work themselves, please contact Assistant Principal Paul Morcone by Oct. 23 at or by phone at 373-6100, ext. 30041.

This is free service. With that said, the high school is accepting rake and recyclable paper bag donations. If you would like to donate a rake for the day, please put your name on the rake. All donations should be dropped off at the Student Center located at Stillwater Middle/High School, 1068 Hudson Avenue.
