Warriors sweep Indoor Track Wasaren League Championships

The Stillwater girls indoor track team was crowned team champions for the first time at the Wasaren League Championships on Jan. 26.

Stillwater boys indorr track team
The Stillwater boys indoor track team claimed the Wasaren League Champion title for the fifth year in a row on Jan. 26.

Jan. 31, 2014 - Both boys and girls Stillwater indoor track teams were crowned team champions at the Wasaren League Championships at Williams College, MA, on Jan. 26. This marks the fifth straight year of Wasaren indoor titles for the boys and the first ever victory for the girls’ program.

Both teams will be competing at Sectionals on Feb. 8 at SUNY Albany.

Congratulations to the teams, Coach McClements, Coach Harder and Coach Tavani!

Some of Stillwater’s accomplishments included:
  • Leah Moran (jump captain): 1st place long jump; 2nd place 300 meter dash (school record); 1st triple jump (at 37 feet and 5.75 inches, Leah is one of the state’s best)
  • Adrienne Dudla (sprint captain): 1st place 55 meter dash; 2nd place 4x200 meter relay; 1st place pole vault (new school record of 8 feet and 6 inches)
  • Tatyana Dunn: 1st place high jump; 2nd place triple jump; 3rd place long jump
  • Brooke Ferrell: 2nd place long jump; 3rd place 55 meter; 3rd place 300 meter dash
  • Mackenzie Macey: 2nd place 55 meter hurdles; 2nd place 4x400 meter relay
  • Isaiah Minick: 1st place long jump; 2nd place high jump; 3rd place pole vault
  • David Giallonardo: 1st place high jump; 5th place triple jump
  • Matt Giallonardo: 2nd place long jump; 3rd place triple jump
  • Brendan Russom (hurdle captain): 2nd place 55 meter hurdles (school record); 6th place 55 meter dash
  • John Hickey (throw captain): 1st place shot put; 2nd place weight throw
  • Ethan Jaynes (distance captain): 2nd place 1600 meter run; 1st place 4x400 meter relay; 2nd place 1000 meter run (school record)
