Stillwater family and friends raise $1,800 at Warrior Walk

Thank you to all those who participated!

Sept. 27, 2012 — This year, Stillwater students, staff, family and friends raised $1,800 at the third annual Warrior Walk on Sept. 22. The event was sponsored by Stillwater Middle School’s Friends of Rachel Club.

The MS Friends of Rachel Club members chose to donate the Warrior Walk proceeds to the Stillwater and Mechanicville food pantries, a family within the region to help with medical expenses, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and to the widows and children of September 11, specifically designated for Scholarship America’s Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund.

"A special thank you to all of the students, faculty, family and community members for coming out and supporting our local, regional and national charities," said Middle School Principal and Friends of Rachel Club Supervisor Patti Morris.

The Friends of Rachel Club would also like to thank the following:

  • Mr. Gazzelli for being an outstanding master of ceremonies for the third year in a row
  • Stillwater Educational Foundation for donating the bounce house
  • Student volunteers who helped with the bounce house, lap cards and set up
  • Tracy Family for making and donating Amish ice cream
  • MS Student Council
  • HS Track Team
  • Stillwater PTA
  • Stillwater Physical Education Department
  • Stillwater Battle Football
  • Soccer Booster Club
