2016-17 school budget propositions

 
STILLWATER CENTRAL SCHOOL BUDGET


Shall the proposed budget of expenditures of the Stillwater Central School District for the 2016-17 school year in the amount of $23,989,459, for the purposes shown in the statement of estimated expenditures adopted by the Board of Education, be approved and the amount thereof raised by a levy of a tax upon the taxable property of the school district, after first deducting the monies available from State Aid and other sources as provided by law?

STILLWATER CENTRAL SCHOOL CAPITAL PROJECT PROPOSITIONS

Shall the Board of Education of the Stillwater Central School District be authorized to (1) create a 2016 Stillwater Central School Capital Reserve Fund for the purpose of financing the general improvements, reconstruction, renovations or additions to the Stillwater Central School District building, including site work and the acquisition of original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purpose for which such building is to be used; the ultimate amount of such fund shall be $100,000, (2) annually deposit into the 2016 Stillwater Central School Capital Reserve Fund such portion of the unallocated fund balance as determined by the Board of Education. The probable duration of the Capital Reserve Fund is five (5) years.

Shall the Board of Education of the Stillwater Central School District be authorized to (1) reconstruct and renovate portions of the Stillwater Central School (elementary and middle/high schools), including site work thereat, and to acquire original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purpose for which such reconstructed building are to be used, at a maximum cost of $100,000, (2) expend an amount not to exceed $100,000 from the 2015 Stillwater Central School Capital Reserve Fund for such purpose.

STILLWATER PUBLIC LIBRARY


ESTABLISH SCHOOL DISTRICT LIBRARY, APPROVE BUDGET, AUTHORIZE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO COLLECT AND DISTRIBUTE ADDITIONAL TAX OF $222,495 ANNUALLY

Shall the Stillwater Public Library (1) be permanently established as a school district library for the benefit and free use of all residents of the Stillwater Central School District, such library to have nine Library Board Trustees, whose members are elected by the voters of the School District for terms of up to three years, and (2) be authorized to raise $222,495, separate and apart from the annual School District budget, to support and maintain such library, and (3) said appropriation shall be raised annually by a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and shall be an annual appropriation thereafter until changed by further vote of the majority of electors of the Stillwater Central School District, and (4) shall be levied and collected yearly as are other general taxes?
